Santa Monica Pier

Day 5

Mission: To stay quiet and not wake anyone up (failed)
To visit the Santa Monica Pier, Ride the carousel, play in the ocean (accomplished...barely)
To watch airplanes (accomplished)
To play golf (accomplished)

Today we went to visit the ocean. I was very excited until my big toe touched it. I had to run away. It was very cold and VERY loud. I loved making sand castles and watching Uncle Keegan swim with the waves. Aunt Pat asked us to bring a rock back. Uncle Keegan found the perfect one while he was swimming. When he gave it to her though it began to move!! Mom also took us on a beautiful carousel. I picked out my favorite horse...then refused to get on. I cried and Eli rode the horse. He was screaming even louder than me!

Lessons learned: Sunglasses do not make good goggles.
Go potty before going to the beach. Restrooms are a long way away.
All parties going to the beach need to wear shoes. The sand gets hot and two
kids are to heavy to carry.

Aquarium of the Pacific

Day 4

Mission: To stay quiet and not wake anyone up (failed)
To visit the Aquarium of the Pacific (accomplished)
To watch airplanes (accomplished)
To play golf (accomplished)

This was the best day ever! Mommy and Uncle Keegan took us to the biggest Aquarium I have ever seen. We were able to pet sharks and sting rays and touch all kinds of sea creatures. The sea anemone is too squishy. I didn't like that one. I was able to "sleep" with the fish on the side of the fish tank too. We stayed and played all day.

Lessons learned: Plugs (pacifiers) need to stay attached to clothing or they get lost.
Not a single stor ein LA carries the kind of plug Eli likes.
Loosing a plug is a good way to break the habbit.
Glasses should stay on your head or in a safe spot. They can fall out of
a pocket and through the rocks to be lost forever.

We're Going to the Zoo Zoo Zoo!!

Day 2

Mission: To stay quiet and not wake anyone up (failed)
To go to the LA Zoo (accomplished)
To watch airplanes (accomplished)

Mission Mostly accomplished. We gave it a valiant effort this morning, but we just could not stay quiet. Much to excited about the days upcoming events (or yelling at Eli for stealing a toy, get the idea). I found out the there is a zoo just like our zoo at home here by Aunt Pat's house, and we get to visit today! The zoo is built right into the side of a mountain. Uncle Keegan sure seemed to have fun pushing us up all the streets in the blazing heat. Thank you! All the animals live outside here. Mom says it never gets cold so they do not have to have a house to go in. I loved watching the zebras. Eli loved the spiders. Some of them were the size of a softball. All mom could say was YUCK!

Lessons Learned:
1)Visit the zoo on an overcast or cool day.
2)Bring LOTS of water.
3). Do not leave Eli in charge of his hat. He will loose it.

We're Going On Baycation!!!

Day 1

Watching Airplanes in the back yard landing at the Santa Moonica Airport

Mission: Get up early and go to the airport to watch some airplanes. (accomplished)
Fly to Los Angeles on an airplane (accomplished)
Go see Aunt Pat and Maggie (accomplished)
Watch Airplanes (accomplished)

Mission Accomplished! We had a great day. I taught Eli how to sign airplane, and he practiced it atleast a hundred different times. We saw soooo many airplanes today. We both loved the airplane ride. We weren't too happy waiting on the runway, but we are good little travelers everyone says (minus the frequent high pitch screams and kicking the back of someone else's seat).

Lessons Learned:
1)Do not bring 2 water bottles, 6 juice boxes, 2 bottles of sun screen, diaper cream, and lotion in a carry on bag. FAA regulations limit liquid to 3 oz. Our security lady made us give up one bottle of sun screen. I had no idea we were only over our 3 oz limit by one bottle.
2)Lap tickets are not always the best idea, but they are the cheapest.
3)Airplanes have awsome bathrooms. I visited all of them as often as I could.
4)Uncle Keegan deosn't like Airplane rides.

Mommy and daddy are so excited today. I am using my hands to tell them what I want. I still think it is very effective to scream and point, but mommy says that gives her a headache. I have two favorite signs..."please" which will get you just about anything, and "eat" which will also get me just about anything. Mommy and grandma keep trying to get me to use words like "grapes, milk, water..." If you ask me the English language has too many words.

Oh one more crazy thing about mom and dad...they are so impressed I am listening to what they are saying. Unfortunately, they haven't really realized that I am listening. For the first time, I followed a direction..."clap your hands" Now they keep asking me to do it. This seems very odd. Shouldn't they ask me to do something else? They already know I can do that one.

No Push...

***note...Aiden has been working for several weeks on not pushing his brother***

Aiden: Eli, You in time out!
Mommy: (running into the room)Aiden, Did you push Eli?
Eli: (screaming and grabbing his leg)
Aiden: No push; I bite.
