Political Views of a Three-Year-Old

**Aiden is riding in the back of the car in Madison after dark and looks up and sees the state capitol building all lit up.

Aiden: Mommy look...it's a big church!!
Mommy: No Aiden that's the State capitol.
Aiden: A church?
Mommy: No the capitol. You know how the President George works in the big white house. Well Jim the governor works in the capitol.
Aiden: No Mommy...George lives in a yellow house.
Mommy: Remember Aiden, we watched president George on tv and saw his big white house.
Aiden: I watch George in the yellow house mommy.
Mommy: You are right Aiden. George the monkey lives in a yellow house, but George the president lives in a white house.
Aiden: Yeah George is a monkey and the governator of dirt lives up there.
Mommy: The Governor of Wisconsin works up there.
Aiden: Ok mommy.

Conversations continued...

Aiden: Hey, Mommy. I belched. It was a new belch.
Mommy: What happened to the old one?
Aiden: I sold it.
*Mommy motions frantically for Daddy to come listen*
Mommy: You sold your old belch? Why did you sell it?
Aiden: Because I didn't like it.
Daddy: How much did you get for it?
Aiden: $200.
Mommy: Where do they keep it?
Aiden: On their shelf.
Mommy: How do they use it?
Aiden: They burp with it!

Silly Puppy!

These are some of our favorite pictures of Maddie. We sure miss her. The boys love looking at her pictures and talking about her. What dog in her right mind would dress up as a bumble bee and then let a child drag her around?

Happy Halloween

I have decided Halloween is kind of fun. I was Thomas the Train. I was afraid to wear him ever since grandma gave him to me, but Uncle Keegan taught me to be brave...(well convinced me to put it on anyway. He kept giving me candy and then saying I would get more if I put my costume on). Well it worked. So many people gave me candy I could barely drag my pumpkin. With so much candy in there you would think I would be able to find my pumpkin. I have looked every where. I just disappeared the day after Halloween. Any thoughts where the candy went...Uncle Keegan??? Mommy??

Cousins are so much fun!

We went to Indiana this weekend for Great Grandma's 80th Birthday party and had so much fun. Our cousin Logan and Trevor are the best! They played so many games with us we were tired for two days. We sure loved playing with them and Aunt Teri and Uncle Dennis.

Aiden reaches to steal Eli's blanket.
Eli: Ma!! (Eli speak for Mine)
Aiden grabs his own blanket
Aiden: Mine!!
Eli imitates grabbing his own blanket.

Union Il. Railway Museum

This is he best museum around. They had steam engines that had wheels as tall as Dad and electric trolley cars that take you for rides. I rode on 3 different trains and even explored an old passenger train with a dining car, kitchen, and sleeping cars with beds that folded into the walls. Eli loved trying out the big fold up arm chairs, and he climbed up onto the top bunk with daddy for a quick snooze. We have to go back because we didn't get to see everything. Anyone want to join us??

A Day Out With Thomas

Guess Who was visiting the Railroad Museum?? Thomas!! He is a blue steam engine. He and 1518 made a good team (1518 was the engine that pushed in back of all the coaches). Thomas is only used to pulling 2 coaches (Annie and Clarabel), but today he had 6 and needed a little extra help. Eli and I had so much fun. I was so brave in spite of all the noise and big engines...except when Sir Topham Hatt tried to shake my hand. His head was so big I had to run away and hide under the stroller.

Update...Eli

For all of you who are wondering here is how Eli is doing...
He has passed his hearing tests. They are going to retest him at the end of the month to make sure their results are correct. He is using sign language to tell us what he wants. Right now he has about 25 signs. He is beginning to say words, but not consistently. Once in a while a word will pop out, but he usually doesn't repeat it. The other day he was saying bye bye. Other than that, he has been a healthy happy little boy who is enjoying his summer. He is loving playing outside, swimming lessons and following his big brother around all the time. He is very...um lets say adventurous. He loves climbing and jumping and falling doesn't even seem to be a big deal.

An Emergining Sense of humor...

***Eli has been working hard to learn signs for his favorite food, toys, and activities***

Eli and mommy looking at the above picture.

Mommy: Eli who is this (pointing to the dog).
Eli: hahaha baby (signs baby)
Mommy: No Eli. That's doggie (signs doggie). Say doggie.
Eli: Baby hahaha. Babby. Haha
Eli then takes his diaper off and puts it in the cabinet laughing and laughing. What a trickster!

Cooking Lessons

Mom let Eli and I make brownies today!! I am a great cook and Eli is a good helper. I will tell you how to do it...pour oil in a bowl, mix chocolate and put in the oven. Don't forget to clean up. This was our favorite part. We will make brownies at your house too if you let us clean when we are done!
